A squatter may be to blame for a Monday afternoon house fire in Anderson.
The fire broke out just before 2 p.m. at a home on Stingy Lane. Firefighters say that when they arrived the flames had spread from the home to nearby vegetation and a shed.
Neighbors say the house has been vacant for some time, but fire crews found a woman inside suffering from smoke inhalation. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
