Anderson police say they were able to catch a suspected drunk driver thanks to surveillance video that captured a crash.
22-year-old James Landers of Redding has been arrested after he allegedly crashed into a power pole and then left the scene.
Officer responded to Nor-Cal Motoring on North Street in Anderson early Wednesday morning after a burglar alarm was activated. When they arrived, Landers was allegedly staggering through the parking lot. Landers was detained due to his high level of intoxication, and a few minutes later officers found a vehicle registered to Landers crashed into a power pole.
Landers denied driving the vehicle, but surveillance video obtained from Nor-Cal Motoring showed the crash and then Landers leaving the scene.
Police say Landers blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.
