Authorities in Anderson targeted a series of homeless camps Thursday morning, put their new drone to work, and invited members of the city council to tag along.
The Anderson Problem Oriented Policing unit has recently ramped up enforcement in an effort to reduce the environmental impacts of Anderson's homeless camps.
Thursday morning transient camps cleared included property south of Gateway Drive and Shady Lane, and the Anderson River Park.
Officials say several members of the city council came along to see the camps in person.
One woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant, but most of the encampments were unoccupied. Police say they were documented nonetheless, and code enforcement will be back to clear the areas soon.
