The City of Anderson is getting tough on water wasters after the city council unanimously voted to implement cutbacks to meet a statewide mandate from Governor Jerry Brown.
The new rules include limited outdoor watering, which includes the parks, and not watering for 48 hours after wet weather. There is also an order for 25 percent less usage by the city, limits that residents say are unavoidable at this point.
City Manager Jeff Kiser estimates the city could lose $70,000 in revenue a year as a result of the new water restrictions.
