A 24-year-old man with five warrants was taken into custody after being found in possession of a stolen vehicle.
At about 2:00 a.m. this morning Justin Ford, 24, of Anderson, was stopped by an officer searching for a stolen green Mitsubishi Eclipse. The officer noticed the vehicle driving eastbound on Riverside Drive. The driver attempted to lose the officer and turned down Donald Lane. The driver then pulled into a driveway where the officer identified the man as Justin Ford.
Ford was found to have five Misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail on the outstanding warrants.
Additional charges will be sent to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office, Ford will charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property, Grand Theft Auto, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Driving on a suspended License.
There was a passenger in the vehicle who was found to have not been involved and was released from the scene.
