A woman was arrested in Happy Valley Wednesday morning after she allegedly broke into a woman’s home, stole a purse, and then bit the woman’s neck.

According to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home in the 16400 block of Scout Avenue just before 8 a.m.

The resident told deputies that a woman, later identified as Kalah Hockenberry, 31, had just kicked in her door and stolen her purse.

The victim told deputies she confronted Hockenberry, who proceeded to bite her neck. The bite was so severe the skin on the woman’s neck was broken, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hockenberry had since fled the scene, but she was located nearby a short time later and arrested on suspicion of burglary and attempted mayhem.
