Cal Fire officials say nearly all evacuations and road closures ordered as a result of the Gulch Fire in near Bella Vista have been lifted.
The only exception is Backbone Ridge Road through Seaman Gulch at Highway 299 and Revine Road, which will be open to residents only.

The fire originally started around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday when a vehicle caught fire on Backbone Road. The fire was four to six acres and reported as 80 percent contained late Wednesday morning, but a spot fire broke out around noon Wednesday spreading rapidly and forcing evacuations and road closures.
