'All Clear' on Cascade Union School Bomb Scare

(UPDATE)6:38 p.m. - Shasta County bomb squad officials say all is safe on the grounds of the Cascade Union School District Office after something suspicious was found under a school bus.

Authorities tell Action News Now that they found what appear to be a couple of M-80-like fire crackers. The investigation continues.

(UPDATE) 4:28 p.m.-
Our photographer at the scene has confirmed with law enforcement officials a mechanic at the Cascade Union School District Offices in Anderson noticed a suspicious package under one of their buses and notified authorities around 3:30 p.m. The bus is currently on a lift in the maintenance garage. Shasta County Bomb Squad will be on scene shortly.

The Redding Record Searchlight has reported a suspicious package first located on the grounds of the Cascade Union School District Office in Anderson has been upgraded to a "bomb device."

The device was first reported just after 3:30 p.m. Bomb squad has been called in to further investigate and identify what specifically the device is. The Searchlight's report states that police stated the device in in a garage on the district property.

Mill Street is currently closed between Silver and Franklin Streets. We have a photographer on scene and will bring you the latest developments as they come in.
