Lonnie Keith was arrested in January on rape and kidnapping charges involving two young women. Now, he faces those same two charges again involving a third victim from spring of 2012.
Butte County District Attorney Michael Ramsey said this case has same eerie details from last fall. Keith would allegedly use drugs to knock his victims out, then use zip ties to restrain them, before raping them.
Chico State students say things changed after what happened last fall.
“When that first happened there was an increase of girls being like, ‘Hey can you walk me home? You’ve heard about what’s going on.’ They were definitely just more scared than anything,” Chico State fifth year Blake Rudolph said.
A preliminary hearing has been set for September 18th. Ramsey hopes the latest charges will be combined with the existing case, which is scheduled for an October trial.
