Actor, astronaut, Olympian added to California Hall of Fame

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - California is adding another eight names to its Hall of Fame to honor prominent Californians for their contributions to the worlds of art, science, literature and sports.

Gov. Jerry Brown and first lady Anne Gust Brown were set to induct the latest honorees at a ceremony in Sacramento Wednesday night.

On this year's list are actor Robert Downey Jr, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt, martial arts star Bruce Lee, Olympic ice skater Kristi Yamaguchi, painter David Hockney, astronaut Ellen Ochoa, cartoonist Charles M. Schulz and country music legend Buck Owens.

This year marks the ninth anniversary of the California Hall of Fame.
