Increasing clouds, cooler high temperatures, and the potential for active weather is ahead for your Tuesday. Clouds have filtered into the region from the South overnight, and are expected to continue to spread through the north state by Tuesday afternoon. Unstable conditions will lead to a chance of thunderstorms across the mountains, and the northern end of the valley this afternoon. The best chance for active weather will be in the higher elevations.
Temperatures dipped into the mid to high 50's for the valley overnight, and into the mid 30's to mid 40's in the mountains. Valley temperatures are projected to climb into the high 70's to mid 80's, and mountain areas can expect a return to low 70's to low 80's. Winds will be out of the South to around 10mph in the valley. Mountain areas can expect to have winds out of the West to around 10mph, with the potential for gusts up to around 40mph.
Today will have the best potential for active conditions for the week, but there will be a lingering chance for showers and thunderstorms over the next several days. The best chance will continue to be in the mountain areas, with a slighter chance of those conditions developing in the northern end of the valley. Much cooler temperatures will arrive on Friday, and will continue through your weekend forecast. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
