Much cooler temperatures, and active conditions are ahead for the north state today. Scattered showers have already developed in many areas this morning, and an isolated thunderstorm has been spotted in the Northwestern portion of Shasta County. The potential for scattered showers, and isolated thunderstorms will be ahead for the entire north state for the bulk of your Thursday. A much better chance of thunderstorms will return to the entire region this afternoon. Temperatures have dipped into the low 60's to low 70's overnight in the valley, and into the low 50's to low 60's in the mountains. Afternoon high temperatures are only projected to climb into the low to mid 80's for the valley, and into the low 70's to low 80's in the mountains. Winds will mostly be out of the South to 10mph, but stronger gusts could be ahead during thunderstorms late in the day.
There will still be a lingering chance of active weather ahead for Friday, but the biggest impact from wet weather is in store for today. Temperatures are expected to be very mild tomorrow, and will only climb by about 3 degrees from this afternoons high temperatures. Clearing skies and warmer temperatures are ahead for the weekend, but the valley is still only projected to climb into the high 80's to low 90's. Mid 90's to low triple digits return to the region on Tuesday, and will continue into the latter part of next week. I hope everyone has those umbrellas handy, and stays safe on the wet roads. Have a great Thursday!
