Yet another typical Summer day around the North State, and we won't see much change tomorrow. BIG changes coming this weekend, however, as a summer storm will cool us down nicely!
High pressure continues to dominate California, bringing us our usual August heat, with a few high clouds... and we'll see plenty of that again Thursday. Clouds will thicken Friday ahead of a summer storm heading our way!
Low pressure off the Washington coastline is slowly dropping southward, and will be off of northern California by Friday. It will move inland early Saturday, bringing clouds and MUCH cooler weather... It should feel like October this weekend! It will bring some rain as well, although it won't be much (it IS still August, after all). The North Coast could see up to 1/2" of rain, while 1/10" of rain could fall in Trinity & Siskiyou counties (great news for firefighters in Trinity County!) Shasta County could see around .01" near the mountains and maybe even in Redding. The rest of the North State should be much cooler but dry.
The storm moves out Saturday afternoon, but the cool weather does not. High pressure won't return anytime soon, so Valley highs will remain in the 80's through much of next week! A weaker storm heading into the Pacific Northwest will help keep us cool.
Overall, a nice finish to August and start to September is coming our way!
