Near average temperatures around the North State today... But scorching heat is coming our way by the end of this week!
We saw nice Summer temperatures on this Monday afternoon around the North State, with near average highs for this time of year. High pressure will quickly strengthen, which will push Valley highs into the 105 to 112 range by Friday! The ridge will weaken a little this weekend, but not much... the heat will continue into early next week!
The ridge will be centered over the 4 corners area. The clockwise rotation around it will pull tropical moisture from the Gulf of California northward into the North State by the end of the week, which should spark afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains by Friday, lasting into early next week. The Valley should also notice some high clouds... but the storms should stay confined to the higher elevations.
