Today was a very wet day around parts of the North State... while other areas didn't see that much. The rain will taper off to a few scattered showers this weekend, and again next Tuesday.
Most areas in the Sacramento Valley saw rain today, but the real heavy rain fell around Redding and in the Sierra Nevada. Redding picked up almost 2", while 3" to 5" totals were common in eastern Butte County and Plumas County. Four Trees in eastern Butte County picked up around 6" of rain on Friday! A very moist Atmospheric River soaked us, but is now moving southward. The steady rain will turn to scattered showers by this weekend. Cooler air will move in this weekend as well, with snow levels dropping to near 3500'... but most of the moisture will have moved out by then.
We'll see a break in the wet weather on Monday, then another weak storm will bring scattered showers on Tuesday. Most of the rest of next week looks dry.
