A Chico Group Leads March in Memory of Martin Luther King Junior

A Chico group joins the National Celebration of the Realize the Dream Fifty Year Anniversary of the ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. Hundreds gathered today at the Dorthy Johnson Center in Chico to relive the Martin Luther King Jr. speech that happened in 1963. The group marched from the Dorthy Johnson Center to Martin Luther King Park holding signs and singing songs.
After the march, the ‘I Have a Dream’ speech was played at the park followed by local speakers. The event was organized by the MLK Unity Group and the Chico Peace and Justice Center. The MLK Unity Group is new, and they came together to build community awareness on Dr. Martin Luther King Junior.
