A bicyclist is recovering tonight at Enloe Medical Center after being struck by a motorcycle at the corner of West Sacramento Avenue and Warner Street.

It happened on Saturday just after 3:30p.m. a bicyclist was traveling southbound on Warner Street when the driver of the motorcycle was on West Sacramento Avenue and made a left turn to travel south on Warner street.

The driver of the motorcycle tried to accelerate quickly but lost control of his bike, said Isaac Dochon, who called 9-1-1.

“It slide across the road very quickly, he had no chance to get out of the way,” he said.

The bicyclist suffered a seizure and was unconscious when medical personal arrived, he said.

Police say the bicyclist was a Chico State student and suffered non-fatal injuries.

Investigators say the 23-year-old motorcyclist was not injured, and they do not believe alcohol or drugs were involved.

The intersection was blocked off for a couple of hours until law enforcement finished investigating the scene.
