Authorities arrested a man and eradicated more than 9,000 marijuana plants from a pot grow in rural Butte County.
On Tuesday, the Butte County Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Unit and California Department of Fish and Wildlife officials hiked into a large commercial marijuana operation near the town of Inskip.
Andres Hernandez-Farias, 41, of Mexico, was found sleeping in a nearby tent. He was taken into custody, but tried to get away as officials walked him out of the camp.
He was booked into the Butte County Jail and will face felony charges of marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale, and attempted escape.
