According to the Redding Police Department, six officers have been placed on paid administrative leave after firing on a suicidal man who threatened them with a shotgun. It happened Saturday night in the 1,200 block of Liberty Street. The man was taken to the hospital where he was in stable condition. One officer suffered a hand injury while placing the man under arrest. A Critical Incident Management Team has been called in to investigate, which is standard operating procedure in an officer-involved shooting.
