6 arrested in drug bust near North State high school

Six people have been arrested and charged in connection with a drug operation near a North State high school.

The Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force (SINTF) agents, along with deputies from the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, City of Shasta Lake Division, served four Shasta County Superior Court Search Warrants.

The warrants were served at four separate residences in the City of Shasta Lake. Three were within 500 feet of the Central Valley High School’s campus.

Eight hundred pounds of processed marijuana and 94 growing marijuana plants were located by agents during the search.

In addition to the marijuana, agents located 12.4 grams of heroin which was packaged for sales, 3.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and additional narcotics paraphernalia.

Packaging materials, evidence of the illegal sale of marijuana, and nine firearms including an AR-15 style assault rifle were located by the agents.

The six suspects arrested were 46-year-old Ian Lin Saeteum, 53-year-old Man Chiam Saelee, 27-year-old San Ting Saechao, 59-year-old Kao Sin Saechao, 30-year-old Lo Ting Saechao, and 44-year-old Christopher Robin Maughs.

In addition to the charges of illegal cultivation of marijuana, and possession for marijuana for sales, Maughs was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, and possession of pepper spray by a felon.

Lo Ting Saechao also had an additional charge of being armed during the commission of a felony.

All six suspects were booked into the Shasta County Jail.

Additional complaints will be sent out to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office for two other suspects.
