5.7 Earthquake Caused More Than $1 Million in Damages

Officials in rural northeastern California say a magnitude-5.7 earthquake last week caused more than $1 million in damage. Plumas County Office of Emergency Services Director Jerry Sipe says that more than 50 homes in the Lake Almanor basin were damaged Thursday night. The damage consisted of collapsed chimneys and masonry, drywall and plaster cracking.
