The people of Marysville are celebrating the completion of the largest highway reconstruction in the city's history.
It's really cause for celebration for anyone who drives Highway 20 or Highway 70 through Marysville. After detours, and road closures the community celebrated downtown with live music, vendors, exhibits from Caltrans and of course learning all about the new project. They finished ahead of schedule and about $2 million under budget.
The $46.5 million project rebuilt major portions of Highway 70 and Highway 20.
The new roadway should last up to 4 decades. On top of that... New sidewalks, landscaping, street lights, and improved drainage.
Among those celebrating, were local businesses. Road closures and detours impacted local businesses. There's no dought business will be as usual now that traffic is flowing smoothly.
