OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Police say a 4-year-old has been shot in East Oakland.
The Oakland Tribune reports the small child was found wounded Tuesday afternoon. The child was transported to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland and is reported to be in stable condition.
The child's gender has not yet been released.
Police have not determined where the shooting took place or a possible motive for the shooting. They are working to identify suspects.
Police are investigating multiple crime scenes in the area. At one of the locations, there was evidence of a shooting and a crashed Volvo. Some males have been detained for questioning, but police have not identified them as suspects.
Police say evidence also indicates that a paintball gun had been used in addition to at least one firearm.
