4 People Shot in 3 Maine Communities; Gunman Sought

BENEDICTA, Maine (AP) - State police say they're searching for a gunman following the shootings of four people in three different communities in northern Maine.

Steve McCausland of the Maine Department of Public Safety said Friday that four people were shot overnight in the towns of Lee, Benedicta and Silver Ridge. There was no immediate word on their conditions.

McCausland he didn't have further details on the shootings. The names of the shooting victims were not immediately known.

A command post has been set up at Lee Academy.
