After Thursday night’s deadly crash on Interstate 5 near Orland, the process of identifying bodies has proven to be very difficult because of severe burns.
At this time four of the ten victims have been identified.
The first victim to be identified was Humboldt State University recruiter, 26-year-old Arthur Arzola. In a statement issued by Humboldt State University he was remembered by colleagues as passionate and committed to helping low-income and first-generation students get into college.
The remains of two chaperones have also been identified as Michael Myvett and his fiancee, Mattison Haywood. Myvett and Haywood just recently became engaged in Paris.
The final victim to be identified today was El Monte High School Senior Adrian Castro. Castro played football at his school and was looking forward to becoming a college student.
Among the unidentified victims, two are believed to be the driver of the FedEx truck and the bus driver. The remaining victims are believed to be high school students.
