Redding police have arrested a man they say stole 30 televisions from a storage unit belonging to a local nursing home.

Police were called to Hartnell Mini Storage Wednesday morning when employees of Marquis Care Shasta discovered that one of the companies units had been burglarized.

Thirty brand new RCA televisions, TV mounting hardware, and lighting fixtures were missing from the unit. The total value of the stolen goods was estimated at around $7,000.

Police say a review of surveillance footage showed the burglar entering the storage unit on the night of December 6 and 7. Working with a clear image of the suspect’s face, and a license plate number from his pickup, police identified 36-year-old Redding resident Jeremy Stueart as a person of interest.

Officers headed to Stueart’s house on Irwin Road, where they found the truck in his driveway, and Stueart sitting on the front porch.

An empty RCA TV box, several brand new TV mounting brackets, and several of the lighting fixtures were recovered from the side yard of the house.

Stueart has been booked at the Shasta County Jail.
