3 killed, 3 critically injured after truck-vehicle crash

Three people were killed and at least three people were critically injured late Friday night after a truck crashed into at least two vehicles on Interstate 5, KNBC-TV reported.

The California Highway Patrol tells the TV station (http://bit.ly/1TEVqDB ) that the crash occurred around midnight on the northbound I-5 near the Washington Boulevard exit.

Fire officials say a big rig struck at least two vehicles and burst into flames. The Los Angeles County Fire Department says the fire was quickly put out.

The fire department says as many as four additional occupants were injured.
