3 injured in Highway 99 crash

Several people were seriously injured after a crash involving three vehicles closed Highway 99 at the Durham Pentz Road exit Thursday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at around 1:40 p.m. a Mercury Grand Marquis traveling southbound on Highway 99 when it crossed over the median and into northbound traffic, where it collided with a Toyota SUV and a pickup truck.

The drivers of the Mercury and Toyota SUV suffered major injuries, while the passenger of the pickup truck was also injured.

Fortunately a baby girl in the Toyota and the driver of the pickup truck were uninjured.

Highway 99 was backed up to the 149 junction and closed to traffic for nearly two hours.
