A fight between friends and relatives in Redding turned violent Sunday night, and left three people hospitalized.

Police were called to a home on the 1100 block of Yogi Court in Redding around 11 p.m. Sunday. Officers say a fight had broken out over the volume of music playing inside.

Officers found 22-year-old Tyler Fox and 49-year-old David Disney, both of Redding, injured at the house. A third man, Matthew Fox, 24, was bleeding from his hand.

Matthew Fox told police he had injured his brother Tyler in self-defense. Tyler Fox and Disney said they had been arguing with a fourth man, 18-year-old Brandon Castle, over loud music.

As the argument turned violent, Matthew tried to intervene. He says Tyler pulled a knife, to which he responded by smashing a beer bottle over his brother’s head.

During the fight, Disney was cut in the face by the broken beer bottle.

Disney and Tyler Fox were taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment, and Matthew Fox was treated at Shasta Regional Medical Center. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

Police say no arrests have been made, but the report has been forwarded to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office.
