Butte County authorities nabbed three drunken drivers during increased St. Patrick's Day Patrols.
Throughout the night, officers conducted saturation patrols and stopped three people who were found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Additionally, one person was arrested for driving without a license.
The increased patrols were part of a grant called "Avoid the 8." Butte County police forces received a grant to fund one year of increased DUI and traffic enforcement. "Avoid the 8" DUI Task Force includes participation from Paradise Police Department, Chico Police Department, Oroville Police Department, Gridley Police Department, Butte County Sheriff's Office, California State University, Chico Police Department, California Highway Patrol, California State Parks, with additional assistance from Butte County Probation and Alcohol Beverage Control.
The "Avoid the 8" task force will be conducting increased patrol Tuesday for Cesar Chavez Day.
