Chico police have arrested three people they suspect vandalized at least 17 cars and five homes Tuesday morning.

The Chico Police Department arrested Ellis Ware, 23, Jesse Alexander Robinson, 20, and a 16-year-old, all of Yuba City just hours after reports of three men throwing rocks through the windows of cars and homes began coming in.

The initial report came at 12:20 a.m., with some 911 callers reported seeing a black sedan near the incidents, which were occurring in several different Chico neighborhoods.

At 2:21 a.m. an officer was flagged down at the Maltese Bar on Park Avenue by a person who said the bar’s front window had just been smashed with a rock.

The officer found a dark blue Toyota Camry driving nearby, and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver fled.

The driver led officers on a pursuit that stopped on West 17th Street, where all three occupants fled on foot. The suspects were arrested a short time later.

Ware and the 16 year old juvenile were arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism. Jesse Robinson was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police say they received reports of 17 vehicles vandalized and five homes damaged. More reports are expected and additional charges could be filed.
