The 25th Annual Glenn County Sheriff's Posse Poker Ride is scheduled for Saturday, April 11th with an alternative date of April 12th in case of rain.
The event takes place at the Eames Ranch in Elk Creek. It's a private, working cattle ranch nestled in the rolling green foothills with plenty of wildflowers and some low creek crossings.
Commemorative buckles will be offered for "High Hand". It's two riders to a team, $30 per rider if postmarked by April 1st. Entry will be $35 per rider at the gate. A tri tip lunch is available for $10.
Sign-ups start at 8 a.m., with first riders out at 9 a.m. The trail closes at 10 a.m.
The Glenn County Sheriff's Possee is marking it's 60th year. The group raises money for scholarships and assists the Sheriff's Office with traffic control, Search and Rescue calls, Safe and Sober Graduation. It promotes western heritage, and hosts an annual youth rodeo.
