Students on the ridge took learning outside of the classroom.
Cal Fire Butte County along with the Paradise Unified School District and the Upper Ridge Wilderness Areas teamed up for the 23rd annual "Trail Days."
The Cal Fire training center served as a classroom with lessons you won't find in a text book.
Activity stations included tool safety, trail clearing, fire shelter and of course the fan favorite, the fire engine. They also took in land stewardship, the water cycle, team building and general safety.
Wednesday and Thursday the students will be at the Upper Ridge Nature Preserve taking part in a nature walk, trail clearing and team building events.
