The 6th Street Center for Youth is accepting donations of Prom Dresses and Formal Wear for the 2014 Prom Project.
On April 26th high school students in Chico can pick out clothing for prom, free of charge.
It's a program intended to make sure all students have the opportunity to attend prom, which otherwise might prove too costly for families with limited means. Last year it served 150 students.
No proof of income is required for teens who want to take advantage of the Prom Project.
Jewelry, clothing, shoes, purses, ties, and other prom accessories are also welcome. And so are financial contributions.
Project coordinators are hoping to be able to rent a storage unit, and clothing storage bags to keep left over donations for future years.
Donations are needed before April 24th.
The drop off location is also where the distribution will take place, at the 6th Street Center for Youth located on 6th Street between Main and Broadway Downtown.
