2 Redding men arrested after waving rifle in parked car

Just after 1:00 p.m. Redding Police received reports that a person was pointing a gun out the window of a parked PT Cruiser on the 700 Block of Redwood Boulevard.

When officers arrived, two people ran from the location. One suspect ran north through a green belt area. An officer saw the suspect jumping a backyard fence on the 1100 Block of Jaxon Way and he was located trying to hide from officers and CHP helicopter under trees.

The second suspect ran towards an apartment complex at 701 Redwood Blvd. A resident at the apartment complex came home and found the man in his apartment. The apartment resident alerted police the suspect had fled with a trek mountain bike he had stolen.

Officer’s conducted an extensive search for the suspect and provided descriptions of him to area residents. The man was spotted by a witness and then taken into custody.

The suspects were identified as Daniel Bonnie, 24, of Redding who was arrested for prowling and his brother Joseph Bonnie, 28, of Redding who was arrested for residential burglary.
