Two Redding businesses are facing fines after the state's department of Alcohol Beverage Control conducted sting operations designed to catch store clerks and businesses that provide minors with alcohol.

A minor under the direct supervision of law enforcement was able to purchase alcohol at Hot Shots at 2680 Bechelli Lane and Win River Mini Mart at 2415 S. Bonnyview Road.

The clerks at both businesses, Chance Alday, 26, of Redding and Jerald Zahler, 28, of Redding, were cited and face a minimum fine of $250, and 24 to 32 hours of community service.

ABC will also take administrative action against the alcoholic license of the businesses where alcohol was sold to a minor. That may include a fine, a suspension or the permanent revocation of the license.
