ROSEVILLE, Calif. (AP) - Officials say two men are alive but in grave condition after being shot in the head and burned alive in a rural pocket of Northern California.
The Sacramento Bee reports Friday that the burning men were discovered late Thursday after a resident responded to a fire near his home outside Roseville.
The Placer County Sheriff's Office says the resident then realized that the two burning men were the source of the blaze.
The injured men are in their late 20s to early 30s. Their names were not immediately available.
The men were transported to a hospital where they were listed in grave condition Friday night.
The incident occurred about 120 miles northeast of San Francisco.
