Two men were injured Tuesday morning when a big rig crashed into a California Department of Transportation maintenance truck on Interstate 5 near Williams.
The crash happened just after 10 a.m. south of Highway 20, on the southbound side of the freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Caltrans truck was parked on the side of the road when it was struck by the semi and pushed 150 feet.
Emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life to get the trapped worker out of his vehicle. He was life flighted to Enloe Medical Center, and the driver of the big rig was taken to Colusa Medical Center.
CHP officials described their injurie as minor to moderate. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
