Siskiyou County sheriff’s deputies responding to a trespassing call Friday afternoon found two men dead inside a camper.

A sheriff’s deputy was called to investigate the presence of a small camper on private property in the area of French Creek Road near Miners Creed Road, and discovered a strong propane scent.

A search of the dwelling revealed two men that appeared to have been dead for several days.

An initial investigation revealed no signs of foul play. According to the sheriff’s office, the camper had little or no ventilation and a propane-driven device was found inside. A final determination is pending an autopsy.

The two victims have been identified by the coroner’s office as Michael Minto, 53, of Etna, and Mr. Kelly Sardeson, 48, both of Etna.

Sheriff Jon Lopey stated "On behalf of the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office, I would like to offer our sincere condolences and prayers to the family of Mr. Minto and Mr. Sardeson.”
