The King County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the two people killed Tuesday night at a homeless encampment in Seattle.
Officials with the medical examiner's office told The Associated Press that 45-year-old Jeannine L. Brooks and 33-year-old James Q. Tran both died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Seattle police Chief Kathleen O'Toole says the five people killed or wounded in an attack at a Seattle homeless encampment were not targeted because they were homeless.
She said Wednesday the shooters and victims were acquainted with each other, and the attackers were likely not homeless.
In a briefing to a City Council panel, O'Toole said police officers and social workers have been visiting other nearby homeless camps to reassure people that they are not in danger because of the shooting.
Police hope to interview the three survivors to get more information about the shooting.
No arrests have been made in the case.
