SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say two auto businesses in San Jose burned in a fire that required multiple calls for assistance to extinguish the flames.

San Jose Fire Capt. Fernando Munoz told KCBS-Radio that the building caught on fire early Saturday. It housed an auto shop and an auto upholstery business.

Munoz says that two people inside the building were able to escape on their own and nobody appears to be injured.

He says that when the first fire crew arrived, the building was engulfed in fire.

He says it took five crews to bring the flames under control.

He says fire fighters will stay at the burned building until Sunday morning to fully extinguish the fire and investigate what sparked the flames.
