For the second time in as many weeks Shasta County drug agents have busted a marijuana grow near North Fork of Digger Creek.

Agents with the Shasta County Sheriff's Office Marijuana Investigative Team, United States Forest Service and California Department of Fish and Wildlife Marijuana Enforcement Team raided the grow site Thursday and two Hispanic males, Tiburcio Olmos and Adalid Rosales-Lopez.

Over 6,000 marijuana plants were seized and agents found evidence a highly toxic insecticide known as carbofuran, labeled "Methan". This insecticide is outlawed in the United States due to its highly carcinogenic, teratogenic and mutagenic effects.

The evidence gathered by agents revealed the grow was connected to a marijuana grow nearby that had been raided by agents on September 5.

Olmos and Rosales-Lopez were subsequently booked into the Shasta County Jail on the listed charges as well as various Fish and Wildlife violations.
