ELK GROVE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a 16-year-old boy was severely burned when a trailer in front of a Northern California home exploded.
Police and fire crews in the Sacramento County city of Elk Grove responded to a report of an explosion on the property around 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
Elk Grove police spokesman Christopher Trim said they arrived to find the trailer gutted and the boy injured. Trim described the injuries as possibly life-threatening.
It was not clear what caused the explosion or whether the boy was inside or outside the trailer at the time.
Trim said there was no immediate indication of criminal activity. He said two or three homes also sustained damage.
