The 15th Annual Night in Casablanca to benefit CASA is planned for Friday, April 15th, at the Palms in Chico.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate, and CASA volunteers are appointed by Judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, so they don't get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system, or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many of these children, their CASA volunteer is the one constant adult presence in their lives.
The program is administered in Butte, Glenn and Shasta Counties through Northern Valley Catholic Social Service, Inc.
A Night in Casablanca features Dinner and Dancing, a Casino, Live and Silent Auctions, Entertainment and a Wine Wheel. It takes place from 6-10 p.m. at the Palms, 2947 Nord Avenue.
