14 Mile Pursuit Ends with Two in Jail

Two men are behind bars after they led Redding police on a chase in a stolen vehicle. Officers tried to stop the stolen green Dodge mini-van on Knighton Road east of Airport Road around six Monday night. The driver failed to pull over and led officers on a 14-mile pursuit that went all the way to Anderson then back to Redding. At one point, the car slowed and a male passenger jumped out. He was found hiding in bushes along highway 44. He was identified as 35-year-old Gary Singer. Meanwhile the pursuit on the car continued to near Lawncrest Cemetery where the driver, 29-year-old Howard Selig, fled to a nearby house and was later arrested. They were both were booked into Shasta County Jail.
