The Glenn County sheriff's office is still trying to identify a person killed Saturday morning in a fiery crash near Willows.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1991 Pontiac Firebird was traveling northbound on County Road 306 when the driver drifted into the southbound lanes, then overcorrected and lost control. The vehicle slammed into an AT&T utility pole, hit a wire fence and came to rest after hitting a tree.

The vehicle burst into flames, and the driver's body was burned so badly that officials have not been able to identify the person.

CHP officials say the fire hindered investigators, and the cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
