What may be Downtown Chico's oldest bar will be closing it's doors next month.
The Towne Lounge has served up drinks on Main Street since 1966, but May 28th will mark the final "last call" for alcohol there.
Woody Sjorstrom has been in the bar business for 25 years and has owned the Towne Lounge for the past eleven years. He told Action News that "times have changed" and he's "ready to move on."
Sjorstrom sold his liquor license to Scott Baldwin ... who owned the former "Rico's Pizza" ... and Baldwin hopes to open a new "up-scale" bar called "Argus" in another spot.
Meanwhile, Sjorstrom says the Towne Lounge will offer specials every weekend leading up to the last day.
And he said the last week, the bar will open when it used to ... at six o'clock in the morning.
