One day after our "Action News Now" expose on problem marijuana grows in Rancho Tehama, Agents with the Tehama Interagency Narcotics Task Force act on citizen complaints and raid several pot gardens.
Two Eureka residents were arrested after more than 200 plants were discovered growing on Oakridge Road ... outside the scope of medical marijuana laws.
They are identified as 61 year old Suraphan Worasen and 51 year old Thongvanh Worasen.
A Honda generator and $1,373.00 in cash were also seized.
Another 73 plants were pulled-up on nearby Kern Drive, but no one was there and no arrests have been made in connection with that garden.
A third raid took place in the area of Hoag Road and Hall Road just outside Corning.
82 year old John Lopez was arrested for allegedly cultivating 189 marijuana plants.
Residents in the Rancho Tehama Community have made hundreds of complaints to TIDE about problems with criminal activity associated with pot growing, and they're also concerned about how the spike in marijuana gardens is impacting groundwater levels.
