Yesterday, the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office investigated a complaint of vehicles blocking a driveway near the 100 block of 4th Street in Orland. At the time of the investigation, the responding Deputy observed several trailers, a Caterpillar Generator trailer and a Pace Cargo trailer. The Deputy recognized the trailers as recently having been reported as stolen to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers from the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, Glenn County Sheriff’s Office, California Highway Patrol and Cal Fire secured the property until a Search Warrant could be issued for the location.
Upon the service of the search warrant by the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office, 2 additional stolen vehicles were located in a shop building that was being used to dismantle and alter vehicles in an attempt to conceal and or sale them . Also located in the shop building were items reported stolen to the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office on April 30th, 2013 from the Paskenta Community Services District.
Also located at the property were several firearms, including a stolen handgun from the State of Arizona, a short barreled shotgun. Also at the home were several other firearms believed to have been stolen in recent burglaries.
The investigation is ongoing and Detectives have identified 31-year-old Jesse Allen Janto a suspect who remains at large.
Detective seized several items suspected to be stolen property. The property is being retained at the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives are also still seeking the rightful owners of the property and are in the process of locating the suspect.
