A serial child molester is now headed to prison for the rest of his life with hundreds of years to spare.
John Molea was sentenced in a Redding courtroom Monday to six years plus 475 years to life after he was convicted in May.
Prosecutors sayd Molea met the children in 2011 after moving to Happy Valley and joining their church.
The jury convicted Molea on seven counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, and one count of failing to register as a sex offender. Adding to his sentence were also special allegations for having multiple victims in the case and the special allegation that he had two prior convictions for molestation.
Molea's latest offenses came despite previous convictions of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and being required to register as a sex offender though he never updated his registry when he moved to Happy Valley.
In 2004, he had been convicted in for molesting his step-son and a young girl who lived in his neighborhood.
